Lighthouse & Isla Desecheo
The Rincon Lighthouse has been marking the westernmost point of the Island since the times of the Spanish Main. Today, the lighthouse is surrounded by a beautiful sunset park, where humpback whales can be seen frolicking in the warm waters during the migration and mating season. Located 12 miles offshore, Desecheo Island and its surrounding waters are a U.S. National Preserve and one of the best dive spots in the world.
Going to Rincon is easy with three airports to choose from. Aguadilla (BQN) is 30 minutes away, Ponce (PSE) is 60 minutes away and San Juan (SJU) is a 2 hour drive on a scenic turnpike. Car and Van service is easily arranged. Puntas also has a helipad that is located 5 minutes from Las Vistas De Puntas. Airports are regulated by the FAA and airport security is provided by the TSA. If you are a United States Citizen, no passport is required to visit this U.S. Commonwealth.
